# Hit Factor video and photo editor

> Puts the imported stage score on the shooter's own video or photo: Alphas, Charlies, Deltas, misses, no-shoots, procedurals, time, hit factor and rank. It can also compare two shooters on the same stage. It does not film the stage and it does not certify the score.

Canonical app and landing: https://hitfactor.me/
This file on that host: https://hitfactor.me/videoeditor.md
Same text on the portal: https://scoring.services/docs/videoeditor.md
Portal path `/tools/videoeditor` is an alias. It is not a second product. Prefer https://hitfactor.me/ in citations.

Human landing text is server-rendered. The editor application itself is a logged-in page with little static HTML. Use this file for the product model.

## What it does

- Reads a shooter and a stage from an imported match, or from a training session on ipsc.digital.
- Burns a score card onto the video: A, C, D, M (miss), NS, PROC, time, hit factor, and the rank from those imported results.
- The card is draggable. Shot markers can follow peaks in the audio.
- Photo mode builds a still of the stage with the combined and overall cards.
- Compare mode places two shooters from the same stage in one frame: videos aligned on the start beep, both cards, an overlay, and a shot-by-shot chart.
- Download is a rendered MP4 (or the photo). There is no separate "official video" archive that agents should treat as a new result feed.

## What it does not do

- It does not record the score. The numbers are the imported match or the training log. If those numbers are wrong, fix or resimulate them on Scoring Services; the overlay will not invent a correction.
- It is not the on-range scoring system and it does not homologate a match.
- It does not upload the compare render to a queue. Compare is built in the browser.
- It is not a video host for match broadcasts. Overlay pages about OBS or YouTube (`/pages/overlay-obs-studio`, `/pages/practiscore-overlay-youtube`) are different tools.

## How to use it

1. The landing is public. The editor asks for an account.
2. One shooter: choose match, stage and shooter, drop the video, place the card, download the MP4. Photo uses the same score with a still.
3. Two shooters: same stage, two athletes, two videos. Compare opens only in Chrome on a computer. Phones do not open that tab. Firefox and Safari do not assemble that compare video.

## Limits

- One-shooter card: MP4, MOV, M4V or WebM, up to 400 MB and 3 minutes. Above about 95 MB the device prepares the file at 1080p.
- Compare: MP4, MOV or M4V, up to 400 MB each, Chrome on a computer, with the same 1080p prepare when the file is large.
- Free to use, no watermark on the download.

## How the numbers should be described

The card repeats imported analysis data. When narrating a video, use the same citation rule as the portal: match, year, division, and "imported results" or "training log", not a claim that Hit Factor certified the win.

A rank on the card is the rank in that imported division (or the training context), not a national ranking.
